KING COUNTY, WA — A vehicle accident late Friday morning blocked a right lane on Interstate 405, causing delays that began in north Renton, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The wreck occurred on the northbound interstate just before Northeast 30th Street, in the city’s Kennydale area. It was first reported by the WSDOT at 10:25 a.m.
No details have been shared regarding the circumstances behind the crash, but multiple emergency crews were seen responding to the scene.

By 11:00 a.m., traffic was backed up for four miles south of the intersection. At 11:25 a.m., backup had extended another mile down to West Valley Highway, or State Route 181.

In response to the delays, officials announced the HOV lane was open for all motorists.

Shortly after 11:52 a.m., the scene had cleared and all lanes were reopened to traffic.
