SEATTLE, WA – A vehicle accident late Tuesday morning closed multiple lanes on southbound Interstate 5 in north Seattle, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident happened just north of State Route 522 and was first reported at about 10:15 p.m.
While officials have not released any information regarding the cause or nature of the wreck, the three left southbound lanes were initially blocked.
By 10:27 a.m., local firefighters, the Washington State Patrol, and WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT) had already responded to the area. Although one left lane had reopened to traffic, motorists continued to be advised of delays.
UPDATE: The collision on SB I-5 just north of SR 522 in #Seattle is now blocking the left two lanes. Fire, State Patrol and Incident Response are on scene.
