KING COUNTY, WA — Authorities were called to the scene of an injury rollover wreck involving a military vehicle Wednesday morning on Interstate 5 in north Federal Way, according to KOMO News.

The accident impacted the northbound lanes just south of South 272nd Street and was first reported by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) at 11:35 a.m. WSDOT crews joined Washington State Patrol troopers at the scene shortly after.

Details are limited, but officials indicated that a driver suffered injuries considered non-life-threatening when the “large military vehicle” they were operating rolled over.

The HOV lane remained the only open lane on the northbound interstate for nearly 40 minutes, causing a traffic backup that stretched up to 7.5 miles long, down to the Fife area. By 2:20 p.m., WSDOT indicated that the three right lanes remained blocked.

At 4:44 p.m., the scene was announced cleared with all lanes open to traffic.
