SEATTLE, WA – A vehicle accident Thursday morning closed at least two right lanes of southbound Interstate 5 just south of downtown Seattle, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The collision took place on the southbound lanes of I-5 just north of Interstate 90, near the city’s Yesler Terrace area. It was first reported at about 7:55 a.m., when only the right lane was blocked.
While it’s unclear what led up to the wreck or how many vehicles were involved, footage captured by WSDOT cameras shows multiple emergency vehicles responded to the scene.
Motorists were advised of delays impacting the area, and alternate routes were recommended.
