News: Driver in custody, four injured in rollover crash on I-5 north

SEATTLE, WA – MyNorthwest reports that a driver is in custody on suspicion of driving under the influence following a rollover crash on I-5 north that injured four motorists on Wednesday.

Officials say the collision occurred near the James Street exit, causing two vehicles to roll over.

Seattle firefighters treated the four injured motorists at the scene and say their condition is stable.

Troopers with the Washington State Patrol arrested the suspect after determining they were under the influence. The accident is under investigation as a vehicular assault.

The Washington State Department of Transportation tweeted about resulting road closures extending for three miles on I-5 north near the crash scene. By 12:23 p.m., the left three lanes had been reopened while the right two remained closed.
