TACOMA, WA – A 15-year-old female passenger was killed and three other teenagers were injured following a single-vehicle accident on Marine View Drive in Tacoma on Monday, reports MSN.

The crash occurred at around 1:15 a.m. on Monday, when the speeding vehicle traveling northwest bound on the 4400 block of Marine View Drive crossed the centerline of the roadway and crashed through a power pole. The vehicle then flipped and erupted in flames.

According to investigators, the 18-year old driver was under the influence of marijuana and lost control of the vehicle just prior to the crash. He sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, but was later released.

Prosecutors say the driver could face charges of vehicular assault, vehicular homicide and DUI.

A 15-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, the victim’s identity has not been released.

Two other teenaged passengers, a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, sustained serious injuries and several broken bones respectively. No further updates on their condition were provided.
