SEATTLE, WA — A two-vehicle crash late Sunday sent a car into scaffolding near downtown Seattle, leaving a 47-year-old man injured, reports KOMO News.

The accident unfolded at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Stewart Street shortly after 11:40 p.m., blocking both east and westbound lanes of the roadway.

Officials have not disclosed the cause of the initial crash, but photos and footage taken at the scene captured a black SUV under the impacted scaffolding. By 8:00 a.m., the vehicle appeared to remain parked under the structure with its hazards activated.

The Seattle Fire Department confirmed that a 47-year-old male patient received treatment at the scene, but patient, who was in stable condition, did not require transport to a hospital.

The closure, which remained in place for multiple hours, was lifted shortly before 3:00 a.m.
