SEATTLE, WA — A 28-year-old man was arrested Friday morning after using an all-terrain vehicle to run over another man multiple times in Seattle’s Georgetown area, reports KOMO News.

The incident occurred near East Marginal Way South and Front Street, just east of the 1st Avenue South Bridge, at around 7:00 a.m.

According to the Seattle Police Department, the man was prompted to drive to the area, where his trailer was parked under a bridge, after receiving an alert from his security system. After arriving at the scene with no shoes, coat, or identification, he saw a 49-year-old man standing in front of the trailer’s open door. Believing his trailer was being burglarized, the 28-year-old man told officers he chased the other man, who allegedly drove away in a passenger car.

The 49-year-old man, who was left visibly bleeding from the head, told authorities he had encountered the trailer’s open door and tried to close it when he was confronted by the suspect. In the victim’s story, which was corroborated by two witnesses, the suspect had gotten into his ATV and struck the victim multiple times.

Further investigation led to the ATV driver’s arrest. He has since been booked into King County Jail pending an investigation into vehicular assault.
