KITSAP COUNTY, WA — A 27-year-old woman was killed late Sunday night in a single-vehicle accident on Lemolo Shore Drive outside Poulsbo, according to Kitsap Sun.

Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies and first responders were called to the 16000 block of the road at around 11:57 p.m.

An early investigation indicates the woman was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound when, for reasons still unknown, she veered off the roadway and crashed into a utility pole.

Officials said the impact of the crash caused live wires to fall onto the vehicle, prompting a response from Puget Sound Energy crews.

The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Kitsap County Coroner’s Office.

An investigation remains ongoing, but officials said speed appears to have been a factor.
