SEATTLE, WA — A two-car crash Friday morning blocked two left lanes on Interstate 5 near Seattle’s Meridian neighborhood, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.
The accident happened on the southbound interstate at Northeast 50th Street shortly before 8:45 a.m.
Update 8:43 AM : On I-5 southbound at NE 50th St there is a collision blocking the 2 left lanes.

It was unclear what caused the wreck, but a traffic backup had reached nearly four exits back to North Northgate Way by the time WSDOT’s Incident Response Team arrived on the scene.

By 9:11 a.m., more than 20 minutes after the initial report, the scene had been cleared and all lanes were reopened to normal traffic.
Officials have not released any details regarding potential injuries at this time.
