KING COUNTY, WA — Multiple emergency crews were called to a crash Friday morning on Interstate 5 in south Federal Way, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The accident happened on the northbound lanes before Exit 142A to the State Route 18 interchange. It was first reported by the WSDOT at 6:40 a.m.

Details remain limited at this time, but two right lanes were blocked.

Footage captured at the scene indicates two vehicles were involved.

By 6:53 a.m., WSDOT’s Incident Response Team, the Washington State Patrol, Fire Assistance, and medics had all responded to the scene.

Commuters heading northbound from Tacoma were warned of delays.

At 7:36 a.m., nearly an hour after the initial report, the scene had cleared, but traffic on the northbound interstate had backed up to Fife.

At this time, authorities have not disclosed any details regarding potential injuries.
