SEATTLE, WA — A vehicle crash Thursday morning closed two left lanes on Aurora Avenue North in north Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.
The collision occurred on the southbound lanes at North 83rd Street and was first reported by officials at 6:36 a.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the event, but by 6:56 a.m., all southbound lanes at the intersection were shut down as police and emergency crews responded.
Photos taken at the scene suggest at least two vehicles were involved. One light-colored passenger car can be seen with severe front-end damage.

Commuters were asked to find alternate routes until about 7:12 a.m., when the scene had been cleared from the roadway.
