MASON COUNTY, WA — A 74-year-old man died Monday morning after his car collided with another vehicle in downtown Belfair, reports iFIBER ONE News.
The fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Clifton Lane and State Route 3, near a small shopping center, shortly after 9:00 a.m.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the man was seen driving a silver Mercedes erratically prior to T-boning a red Ford pickup truck.
Medics airlifted the man from the scene but the patient died from his injuries shortly after.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 17-year-old Tahuya resident, was not reported hurt.
An investigation was underway, but at this time, authorities do not believe impairment factored into the crash.
