SEATTLE, WA — Three people were hospitalized Thursday morning after a multi-vehicle collision in west Seattle’s Highland Park neighborhood, according to West Seattle Blog.

The accident happened at the intersection of 8th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Roxbury Street. It was first reported by WSB at 3:26 p.m.

Seattle Fire crews were initially called for an extrication rescue, but reduced their response after it was learned all occupants were able to exit their vehicles.

Photos taken at the scene show severe front end damage to at least two passenger vehicles. One vehicle appeared to have caught fire, leaving the wreckage partly charred.

Medics rushed two patients, a man and a woman, to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries. A third male patient with less-serious injuries was transported to a hospital by private ambulance.

Multiple areas near the intersection were blocked off during an investigation by the King County Sheriff’s Office and Seattle Police.

By 5:00 p.m., King County Metro buses appeared to have resumed their route along Roxbury, indicating a partial reopening of the road.
