News: WSP trooper seriously injured in fiery crash on SR-167 near Puyallup

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A Washington State Patrol trooper was hospitalized early last Friday after a fiery vehicle collision on State Route 167 near north Puyallup, reports KOMO News.

The accident happened at the North Meridian Avenue intersection on March 11, shortly after 1:15 a.m.

Details are limited, but WSP said the trooper had been inside a Dodge Charger when it crashed and caught fire.

The trooper suffered serious injuries, but several passersby were able to pull the trooper out of the vehicle as it became engulfed in flames.

It was not immediately clear whether any other vehicles were involved.
