THURSTON COUNTY, WA — Three teenage boys were injured Thursday evening in a single-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 near Lacey, according to KOMO News.

Washington State Patrol said the accident happened north of milepost 114  at approximately 5:20 p.m.

An early investigation indicates an 18-year-old male driver in a gray 2005 Acura veered across all lanes of traffic before the vehicle ran off the roadway and came to rest on the shoulder.

The driver and two other male passengers 16 and 17 years of age were injured. It was unclear whether or not they required transport to a hospital.

An 18-year-old female passenger was reported uninjured.

A section of the interstate was closed for almost eight hours during the emergency response and investigation.

Authorities said the driver now faces charges of vehicular assault and DUI.
