SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — Three people were injured, two critically, Tuesday night in a major two-vehicle collision in south Everett’s Twin Creeks area, reports My Everett News.

Everett police responded to the scene at the intersection of 112th Street Southeast and 1st Avenue Southeast at about 7:40 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates a black Mercedes was heading westbound on 112th when it struck a red passenger car at the 1st Avenue intersection.

Two people suffered life-threatening injuries and were rushed to Providence Regional Medical Center, while a third person was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.

It was not immediately clear which party was at fault, but the Mercedes sustained severe front-end damage, and the red passenger car was severed in half.

A section of 112th Street SE between 2nd Avenue SE and Meridian Avenue South was shut down during the response.

An investigation by the department’s Traffic Safety Detectives remains ongoing, but authorities said speed and DUI are suspected factors.
