SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A man was hospitalized Wednesday night after his pickup truck collided head-on with a concrete pillar on Interstate 5 in Mountlake Terrace, according to KOMO News.
The accident occurred on the offramp to 236th Street Southwest at approximately 10:45 p.m.
According to Washington State Patrol, the man was driving a 2001 Ford Ranger when he got into the offramp’s far-left lane designated for buses only. Shortly after, the pickup crashed into the pillar near the Mountlake Terrace Bus Loading Station.
Authorities said the driver suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. No information has been released on his condition.
No other occupants were in the vehicle, and no other injuries were reported.
It was not immediately clear why the man took the specific onramp.
An investigation was in progress.
