SEATTLE, WA — A 38-year-old man died early Monday after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in the Green Lake neighborhood of north Seattle, according to KIRO 7 News.

Seattle Fire crews responded to the scene in the 8000 block of Corliss Avenue North shortly before 2:00 a.m.

A witness told investigators a white Ford F-150 pickup truck hit two pedestrians before fleeing eastbound on North 80th Street.

The adult pedestrian died from his injuries before crews arrived, confirmed an SFD spokesman. A 17-year-old boy suffered serious injuries and was transported to Harborview Medical Center. His condition remains unclear.

Authorities said a ride share scooter was found near the scene, but it was not immediately clear whether or not the pedestrians had been using them.

An investigation into the fatal incident was underway.
