SEATTLE, WA — A woman was injured by a falling piece of rebar while commuting home from work last Thursday, according to Kiro 7 News.

Rachel Brophy suffered cuts to her face after a 5-foot iron rebar rod fell through her windshield, exploding the glass.

Brophy was merging from I-90 to northbound I-5 when the rebar fell from the 12th Avenue South Bridge.

First responders with the Seattle Fire Department and a state trooper who arrived said the incident was one of several that day involving falling objects.

Other reported objects include bricks and rocks. There is reason to believe the objects were intentionally thrown.
