Update: Victims identified in fatal Hanford crash

HANFORD, WA – Officials with the Washington State Highway Patrol have released the names of the couple who died as a result of a previously reported car accident in Hanford Wednesday morning.

According to YakTriNews, The incident happened at milepost 35 on State Route 24, where 32-year-old Hilario Hernandez Torres struck a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Manuel Medrano of Sunnyside.

The force of the initial impact sent Medrano’s vehicle into the oncoming lane, where it was struck again by a westbound vehicle. Both Medrano and his passenger, 61-year-old Teresa Medrano, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Officials say charges are pending against Hernandez-Torres. An investigation is still ongoing.
