TACOMA, WA – Investigators with the Tacoma Police Department are looking into the cause of a collision involving several vehicles that sent two people to the hospital Thursday afternoon.
According to KOMO, the accident occurred around the area of 72nd Street and McKinley Avenue south at about 3 p.m.
Police believe the driver responsible was traveling at a high rate of speed on McKinley Ave. when they struck a minivan, pushing it into a third vehicle. The suspect then continued down the roadway and side-swiped the fourth vehicle before rolling over onto nearby railroad tracks.
Two people were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following the crash. It is not clear which vehicles they were in.
No further information with regard to the identity of the driver responsible or others involved has been made available at this time.
