AUBURN, WA – The driver of a stolen SUV was shot and killed by an unknown motorist following a chase on State Route 18 early Tuesday morning.
According to King 5 News, the incident started near C Street SW shortly after midnight, when the driver of an unidentified vehicle pursued a white SUV onto the on-ramp to westbound State Route 18.
An occupant of the unknown vehicle opened fire on the SUV. The shots caused the SUV to spin-out and head the wrong direction on the on-ramp. The driver of the SUV then exited the vehicle and climbed over the barrier into the eastbound lanes, where he died. It is unclear if he was shot while he was driving the vehicle or while he was on foot.
Local authorities reported that the SUV was stolen from a 7-Eleven in Auburn.
