SEATTLE, WA – Two people were killed when their car was hit by a stolen vehicle in New Holly early Friday morning.
This is an update to an earlier story.
According to King 5, a stolen Nissan Pathfinder drove through a red light on Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and collided with a Toyota Camry at its intersection with Holly Street at around 3 a.m. Friday.
A female passenger in the Camry died at the scene. The male driver died from injuries later at Harborview Medical Center.
The driver of the stolen Nissan has been identified as 18-year-old Alande Gachette.
Gachette sustained minor injuries in the crash. He had been released on his own recognizance for an alleged DUI three days before the fatal accident. The suspect was booked for two counts of vehicular homicide and possession of a stolen vehicle. Police are investigating to determine if he was driving under the influence at the time of the crash.
