KING COUNTY, WA — A section of southbound Interstate 405 was shut down Thursday afternoon in Bothell’s Canyon Lake area following a collision, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT).
The accident, which initially only had the toll lane and left general purpose lane closed at 2:55 p.m., led to a closure of all southbound lanes shortly after 3:00 p.m.
Officials have not confirmed what led up to the wreck, but footage captured at the scene indicates at least two vehicles were involved. One vehicle appeared to have sustained considerable front-end damage.
The Washington State Patrol, WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT), and local firefighters were all on the scene where traffic was forced to to get by through the shoulder, creating delays in the area.
UPDATE 2: A collision on SB I-405 at SR 527 in #Bothell is blocking all lanes. Fire, State Patrol, Incident Response and maintenance are on scene.

By 3:18 p.m., the scene had been cleared from the roadway ad all travel lanes were reopened.
