PIERCE COUNTY, WA — Authorities were called to a collision late Monday near south Tacoma involving a suspected intoxicated driver, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The incident occurred on State Route 7 at 133rd Street South, in the Parkland area. It was first reported by Trooper Robert Reyer at 10:11 p.m.
Authorities have not released specific details, but multiple WSP troopers and Washington State Department of Transportation – Tacoma crew members responded to the scene. One of the two involved drivers was taken into custody for DUI.
Motorists were instructed to find alternate routes, as a section of SR-7 was shut down in both directions.
