KING COUNTY, WA — A 23-year-old man died Thursday morning after a rollover wreck that left another critically hurt in southeast SeaTac, reports KOMO News.

The Washington State Patrol responded to the scene on the southbound lanes past South 200th Street shortly after 4:00 a.m.

Investigators said a 22-year-old man was driving a 2018 Toyota Camry southbound at high speeds. At one point, the car ran off the right side of the roadway and collided with a tree, causing it to roll into a ditch.

The male passenger, 23, was ejected in the crash and suffered fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.

According to Puget Sound Fire, the male driver was transported to Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center with “life-threatening injuries.” He has since been place under custody for vehicular homicide.

One southbound lane was closed, and the onramp from South 200th Street Road entrance ramp partially blocked, for almost five hours following the crash.

At 8:20 a.m., the Washington State Department of Transportation indicated the scene had been cleared.
