SEATTLE, WA — A 25-year-old woman died early Monday after a single-vehicle collision in Seattle’s Hillman City neighborhood, reports KIRO 7 Seattle.
The fatal crash happened on Rainier Avenue South near South Findlay Street at around 1:15 a.m.
According to the Seattle Police Department, a 19-year-old woman was driving a Jeep southbound on the road when she lost control of the vehicle. Officials said the Jeep had been traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit a light pole and a tree.
The female passenger was pronounced deceased on the scene, confirmed officials.
No serious injuries to the teen driver were reported, but she was arrested under suspicion of intoxication. She was booked into the King County Jail and faces a charge of vehicular homicide.
