TACOMA, WA — A pickup truck flipped on top of a semi-truck Thursday afternoon, causing delays on State Route 509 near the Port of Tacoma, according to The News Tribune.
Tacoma Police and Tacoma Fire crews responded to the scene on a span of the highway (Marine View Drive) at Taylor Way East. Authorities first received the call shortly before 1:00 p.m.
Details are limited, but Tacoma Fire officials said three vehicles were involved, with one rolling onto the hood of a semi-trailer. A third vehicle appeared to have sustained severe front-end damage.
First responders assessed all occupants at the scene, but no injuries were reported.
The highway was shut down in both directions at the intersection as crews worked to clear the scene, causing a traffic backup.
