SEATTLE, WA — One person was hospitalized Friday night after being struck by a vehicle while using a crosswalk in Seattle’s University District, according to KOMO News.

The incident took place at the intersection of University Way Northeast and Northeast 55th Street at about 8:30 p.m.

An early investigation shows a driver was traveling southbound on University Way when they hit the pedestrian at the NE 55th Street crosswalk.

Authorities said the driver fled the scene without stopping to render aid.

The victim suffered multiple fractured bones and was transported to an area hospital.

On Sunday, two days after the event, Seattle police were able to locate the vehicle after receiving a tip.

As of this writing, the driver of the vehicle has not been found, but a search remains ongoing.
