KING COUNTY, WA — One person died Saturday evening after being struck by a vehicle on State Route 518 near SeaTac, according to Washington State Patrol.

The fatal incident occurred on the eastbound highway approaching Des Moines Memorial Drive shortly after 6:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation by WSP indicates a 35-year-old Texas woman was driving a tan 2014 Subaru Outback eastbound at the same time a pedestrian crossed all lanes from the north to south side. The Subaru struck the victim in the far left lane, and both the victim and the car came to rest on the right side of the interstate.

WSP confirmed the unidentified victim died from their injuries at the scene.

The female driver suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to St. Annes Medical Center.

Authorities said the Subaru was totaled in the accident and was towed from the scene.

No further details have been disclosed.
