News: Elderly pedestrian dies after hit-and-run collision in south Everett

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — An 83-year-old man died Wednesday, a day after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a road in south Everett, according to KOMO News.

The fatal incident occurred in the 900 block of 132nd Street Southwest, near a residential neighborhood, at around 7:00 p.m.

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, the victim was walking across the road outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle. The driver failed to stop and continued traveling eastbound.

Medics rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries the following day.

Investigators describe the vehicle as a light-colored sedan with significant damage to its front bumper, grill and hood area.
