KING COUNTY, WA — A 47-year-old man died Friday afternoon after his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck on Interstate 5 in Federal Way, according to The News Tribune.

The accident occurred on the northbound lanes of the interstate near State Route 18 shortly after 2:00 p.m.

Authorities say the man was riding a 2009 Honda CBR600 north and taking the SR-18 HOV lane when he started to experience “speed wobble.” While moving right to another lane, the rider lost control of his bike and struck the rear of a 2016 Ram 1500.

The victim was transported to Harboview Medical Center where he later died, confirmed the Washington State Patrol. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The 22-year-old driver of the Ram 1500 was not injured.

An investigation into the cause of the crash remained underway as of Saturday.
