News: Male pedestrian fatally hit by vehicle on SR-99 in Lynnwood

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A man died Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle while walking his dog on State Route 99 in Lynnwood, according to Lynnwood Today.

Lynnwood Police Department said the man was walking with his dog in the middle of the highway near 204 Street, and was not in a marked crosswalk, at the time he was hit.

The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and was not suspected of impairment or speeding at the time of the crash.

On the following Monday, the victim’s family told authorities they were able to recover the dog unharmed after it had gone missing.

An investigation remained in progress as of Tuesday.
