KING COUNTY, WA — A driver was hospitalized Friday after crashing their pickup truck into a school bus in the Somerset area of south Bellevue.
According to NBC16 KMTR, the accident occurred on Coal Creek Parkway near Forest Drive.
Police say the pickup truck was heading southbound on Coral Creek when it veered into oncoming traffic and struck the northbound school bus.
The driver of the pickup was trapped as a result of the crash and had to be extricated. They were then transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. No children were riding on the bus at the time.
Authorities later issued a safety reminder to the public that suggested high speed and wet roads may have contributed to the crash.
