PIERCE COUNTY, WA — A driver was killed Tuesday night in a collision involving two vehicles on state Route 7 in Tacoma, according to Trooper Robert Reyer with Washington State Patrol.
The crash took place on a stretch of SR-7 southbound at milepost 45 near Fir Road East. It was first reported by WSP at 10:19 a.m.
One of the involved drivers was transported to a nearby hospital where they died as a result of their injuries. Their identity remains undisclosed.
No other information has been reported on the other driver or other passengers.
Southbound lanes were blocked to traffic as authorities conducted an investigation and were reopened three hours later at 1:39 a.m.
