KING COUNTY, WA — Two people, including a DUI suspect, were injured Wednesday morning during a crash involving a Department of Transportation truck near Bellevue, according to KOMO News.
The incident took place on the eastbound highway near West Lake Sammamish. It was first reported by Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson at 6:22 a.m.
According to officials, the DOT attenuator truck was in the left lane, providing traffic control during a sweeping operation in the area, when it was struck by another vehicle.
The driver of the striking vehicle, who was suspected of Driving Under the Influence (DUI), suffered minor injuries. They were transported to Overlake Medical Center for minor injuries, along with the DOT driver, whose injuries are also believed to be non-life-threatening.
