Dangerous driver causes two car accidents

Here in Seattle, minor traffic accidents are a part of life. While most people understand the importance of getting the other driver's information, getting out of the roadway to prevent back-ups and reporting damages to their insurance, some people who are involved in car accidents believe that they can avoid responsibility by fleeing the scene.

Freedom, Responsibility and the Law

As anyone who knows me can tell you, I am an outspoken advocate for liberty. I believe each of us should have the maximum amount of freedom to make decisions regarding how we educate our children, earn a living, obtain healthcare, use our property and spend our free time. Sometimes I am asked how this commitment to freedom is consistent with the work I do as an attorney. The answer is simple. I believe that without a credible, reliable mechanism to hold people and corporations responsible for their actions, meaningful freedom is not possible. Through my firm's involvement in the civil justice system, we strive to be that mechanism.

Seattle residents hear about car accidents on an almost daily basis and the regularity of accident reports can make it easy to forget that the impact of a crash can affect injured victims long after media reports have become yesterday's news. Fault finding can be critical in Washington bike accidents

Even though Washington state law treats bicycles and motor vehicles as equals with respect to traffic laws, Seattle residents probably recognize a certain degree of tension when it comes to sharing the road. That tension comes to the forefront in the aftermath of any car accident involving a bicyclist. More often than not, the central issue in litigation over accident-related damages turns out to be a determination of who is at fault.

Unfortunately, an attempt to add safety chains on the shoulder of Interstate 90 put two young men in the path of danger on December 15.

Seattle I-5 overpass sees a busy day of car accidents

Given the volume of traffic that courses along Seattle's roads and highways every day, the laws of chance make it possible for an accident to occur anywhere at anytime. According to a spokesman for the Washington State Patrol, the timing and location of any car accident simply turns on a roll of the dice. Even though a string of accidents in one location may arouse superstitions, the State Patrol says that it is really not uncommon for a small section of roadway to be the site of multiple accidents on any given day.
