Community Engagement

In addition to his busy law practice, Matt Dubin enjoys spending time with his wife, Elizabeth and his son Abraham. He is a rabid Mariners fan, and is actively involved in the community. Among Matt’s community activities are the following:

Seattle Symphony Chorale

Matt Dubin has been a tenor with the Seattle Symphony Chorale since the 2000-2001 season. The Seattle Symphony Chorale, the official chorus of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, was founded as the Seattle Chorale in 1953 by Leonard Moore. The Chorale began its formal affiliation with the Symphony in 1976 and now consists of approximately 120 volunteer singers chosen by audition.

In his time with the Chorale, Matt has performed such works as Handel’s Messiah, Beethoven’s 9th, Bach’s B Minor Mass, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Verdi’s Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem, Mahler’s Symphony of a Thousand, and many more great choral works.

In 2005, Matt was featured as a tenor soloist with the Seattle Symphony in Schumann’s ” Manfred”.

North Seattle Baseball Association

In 2014 Matt began coaching tee ball with the North Seattle Baseball Association. North Seattle Baseball is the premier competitive youth baseball league in Seattle’s north end.

As a coach, Matt works with 4-6-year-olds, helping them to develop baseball skills, teamwork and good sportsmanship.

Haller Lake Community Club

Matt has been a resident of the Haller Lake community in Seattle and is a member of the Haller Lake Community Club. The purpose of the Haller Lake Community Club is to operate for the benefit and improvement of the community. We do this by organizing community events that encourage socialization amongst fellow neighbors and we offer a forum to discuss issues that affect our area. We are here to advocate on behalf of the community in an effort to protect its interests. The Haller Lake Community Club functions as our neighborhood community council and as such represents the entire area from Northgate Way to North 145th and from 15th NE to Aurora Avenue North. We are a member of the Seattle Community Council Federation as well as the Northwest District Council, and as such are represented on the City Neighborhood Council.

Bet Alef Meditational Synagogue

Matt and his family are members of the Bet Alef congregation, and Matt Regularly sings during Shabbat services and on holidays and special occasions.

Bet Alef Meditative Synagogue is an inclusive spiritual community practicing an evolving Judaism as a path to awakening. We foster a Jewish spirituality for all ages that supports each individual, is realized in community and manifests itself in our world as peaceful acts of greater compassion and love.
