Rush-hour collision closes lane on I-5 in Burlington

BURLINGTON, WA – Troopers with the Washington State Highway Patrol were forced to shut down at least one lane on I-5 following a rush-hour collision Monday morning.

According to the official Twitter page of the WHP, the incident occurred shortly before 8 a.m. within the northbound lanes of I-5 just north of State Route 11 shortly before 8 a.m.

On I-5 northbound just north of SR 11 there is a collision blocking the right lane.

No injuries have been reported as an immediate result of the collision. However, the far-right lane was closed for a short about of time causing minor delays for rush-hour commuters south of Seattle.

Details regarding the cause of the crash have not yet been made available to the public.
