News: Young woman hit, killed by vehicle on I-5 after falling from overpass in downtown Seattle

SEATTLE, WA – A 21-year-old woman died early Friday after falling from a highway overpass and then being struck by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene near downtown Seattle, reports KOMO News.

The incident occurred a stretch of Interstate 5 just south of Seneca Street, shortly before 2:00 a.m.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the young woman had fallen from the Madison Street overpass on onto the interstate for reasons still unclear. Shortly after, she was struck by a vehicle that continued southbound on I-5.

WSP officials had the highway at least partially blocked for over 3 hours.

At this time, no further details about the circumstances of the woman’s fall have been shared, and no description of the suspect vehicle has been made public.
