News: WSP trooper hospitalized following multi-vehicle crash in Puyallup

PUYALLUP, WA – A Washington State Patrol trooper was sent to the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on SR 512 that was caused by a tailgating driver on Monday.

The collision occurred around 7 p.m. along Canyon Road East, Fox13Seattle reports. Preliminary details indicate that one driver was tailgating behind a patrol car and rear-ended it. 

The law enforcement cruiser was pushed forward and ended in a four-car chain-reaction crash. 

The state trooper sustained minor injuries and was taken to the emergency room for treatment. The other occupants involved were spared from injuries. 

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office will be leading the investigation.
