News: WSP respond to semi truck fire on SR-18 near Tiger Mountain summit

HOBART, WA – Troopers with the Washington State Highway Patrol responded to a semi-truck fire blocking all eastbound lanes of State Route 18 near Tiger Mountain summit on Friday morning.

According to the official WSP Twitter account, the accident occurred around 9:09 a.m., forcing eastbound traffic to be diverted at the interchange with Issaquah-Hobart Road Southeast.

#TrafficAlert SR 18 is completely blocked near Tiger Mountain summit due to a semi fire. EB being diverted off of the Issaquah/Hobart Road. No ETA for clearing. More info to come. No injuries.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Once emergency responders arrived and extinguished the fire around 9:38 a.m., an update was shared stating the roadway would be reopened in 30 minutes.

A picture of the scene showed the tractor unit of the truck was completely destroyed by the fire.
