KING COUNTY, WA — A crash involving a Washington State Department of Transportation vehicle was reported Monday morning on State Route 18 near west Auburn, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The collision occurred on a stretch of SR-18 west of SR-167. It was first reported by Trooper Rick Johnson at 8:27 a.m.
Details remain limited, but officials say a WSDOT crew member in a department pickup truck was helping a disabled motorist. At one point, another vehicle struck the pickup, leaving considerable damage to the passenger side of the truck bed.
WSP said the causing driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries, but it was unclear whether the patient was taken to a hospital.
No serious injuries to the WSDOT driver were reported.
