News: WSDOT closes I-40 in Snoqualmie Pass due to several collisions

SNOQUALIME PASS, WA – The Washington Department of Transportation had to shut down west and eastbound Interstate 40 on Wednesday due to several collisions. 

According to Fox13Seattle, heavy winter weather conditions appeared to be contributing factors behind the truck crashes. Washington State Patrol said the drivers’ vehicles got stuck after driving on these snow-covered roads.

A photo from Washington State Patrol shows at least one jack-knifed truck and multiple other trucks blocking the road. WSP also confirmed that cars had crashed as well. 

WSP reopened the eastbound directions at 6:40 p.m. and the westbound directions at 8:15 p.m. WSP urged travelers to use extra caution given the slick road conditions. 

No injuries were reported.
