News: WS-DOT closes portion of I-5 South along Spokane St. in Seattle

SEATTLE, WA – The Washington Department of Transportation had to shut down a portion of I-5 South along South Spokane Street due to a vehicle accident that happened on Monday. 

WSDOT Traffic first announced the crash at 1:14 p.m., saying crews had to block an HOV lane and two left lanes. 

UPDATE #2: A collision is still blocking the HOV and two left lanes on southbound I-5 just south of I-90 (MP 163).

This is expected to be an extended closure.

There have been no reports of injuries. 

At least one fire truck engine was seen rendering aid. The exact cause of the collision is under investigation. 

Update: Two vehicles were involved in the crash, according to the Seattle Fire Real-Time 911 traffic blotter.
