PIERCE COUNTY, WA – According to FOX 13, a wrong-way driver collided with another vehicle on Canyon Rd near 143rd St E on Wednesday morning.
A pickup truck driver was heading north on Canyon Rd when he strayed into oncoming traffic and slammed into a southbound sedan around 7:09 a.m.
First responders extricated the sedan driver from their vehicle and transported them to an area hospital in serious condition. The pickup truck driver was also hurt. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
Following the collision, crews shut down the area to process the scene.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
