News: Woman sentenced for fatal Lynwood hit-and-run crash

LYNNWOOD, WA – According to FOX 13, a woman has been sentenced to prison for a deadly hit-and-run collision that occurred on the 17400 block of WA 99 on Dec. 2, 2020.

Tachelle Thomas, 24, was allegedly under the influence of marijuana while driving her sister’s car when she hit Fozieh Shirdelhefzabad, 72,  as Shirdelhefzabad was using the crosswalk.

First responders transported Shirdelhefzabad to an area hospital, where she died from a skull fracture and traumatic brain injury weeks after being hit.

Thomas fled the scene and returned to her sister’s residence. Her sister convinced her to return to the crime scene and turn herself in.

Authorities charged Thomas with vehicular homicide while under the influence and hit-and-run fatality. She has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison.
