News: Woman killed in crash involving sheriff’s deputy

SEATTLE, WA – A woman was killed Saturday when a King County Sheriff’s Deputy suffered a medical episode and crashed his vehicle into hers.

According to King 5, the accident happened near Airport Way S. and S. Doris Street intersection at around 12:30 p.m., when the deputy experienced a medical episode, lost control of his car, and slammed into a parked car outside a local store.

Responding authorities removed the woman from her vehicle and attempted life-saving treatment at the scene, but were unsuccessful.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the crash, but believe the deputy suffered a heart attack or stroke. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center and is currently in stable condition.
