AUBURN, WA — A 51-year-old woman was fatally injured Thursday in a single-vehicle accident on state Route 18 in Auburn, according to KIRO 7 News.
The woman was driving eastbound on SR-18 near the state Route 167 merge when her vehicle veered back and forth on the road, striking both right and left side barriers.
Emergency crews rushed the driver by airlift to Harborview Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries.
It was not immediately clear what caused the accident, but officials suspect impairment was a factor. The woman was reported to have not been wearing a seatbelt during the incident.
An investigation is still in progress.
